You're a powergamer, David. TO A TRICKSTER the illusion magic is wonderful, even if all it does is make phantom maggots appear to crawl from the winning pumpkin at the County Fair.
A trickster's motives are not yours.
Also, not all tricksters have access to all Trickster magic.
