Consider Mr. Princeps, the Bosnian Serb who fired the bullet that killed ten million people. Who in England, Germany, or France had even heard of the Archduke Ferdinand or the Bosnian question? Even the countries most directly involved -- Serbia and Austria-Hungary did not expect a _war_ to come out of the assassination! For weeks, it was believed that the whole affair would quiet down. Just another of those hapless Balkan troubles. Yet because of it, people living in Mozambique, India, Canada, Japan, and America were to die by the hundreds of thousands.
The KoW is a much more direct threat than misguided Princeps, and as the nations in 1914 struggled and sought escape from the upcoming holocaust, the Gloranthan peoples will descend the neverending spiral of war and atrocity.
