Dormal in the west

Dormal started out as a normal human. Wouldn't the malkioni say that he is a saint and that the theists in their usual misunderstanding fashion have started idolatory worship of him as a false god while it's perfectly all right to venerate him as a saint and gain his blessing (Open Seas)?
