ITo the many people who reacted with hostility to my faux pas: One was
actually useful and a few were actually polite and a few were
affectionately good-natured jostlings. The advice "Don't pass hoaxes to
mailing lists" is a little like telling someone, "Don't believe lies" or
"Don't buy stocks of companies that are going to go bankrupt." Such
advice is self-evident. It is also USELESS. If what you mean is "Don't
ever pass virus warnings" than the creator of the hoax has already won.
I'll never do it again. Please forgive me.
