Sorry, i didn't word that especially good. I meant that the acolytes have reusable magic of their own, but that they don't get all of the spells available to priests. Basically they get the spells societally needed for what they are doing.

Thus, an orlanth godi in Far Point knows spells like Bless Marriage, Rain Song, Enchant Chimepipes, Worship Orlanth, Command Sylph, Thunder Drumming, but not Thunderbolt, Flight, Wind Warp etc.

Elsewhere the godi might know Flight but not Thunder Drumming - the spells available for acolytes aren't written in stone, as the knowledge and secrets about a deities powers and how to use them are regulated by the cult and not by the god.

Whether a person can gain the non-available spells as one-use (or annually reusable) or not is up to the individual GM. In my Far Point she usually can't.

>My favorite idea is that an acolyte (and perhaps a priest or runelord as
>well) only gets reusable access to the spells of their temple.

Which could be a workable mechanic. I use something similar, but it hasn't been tested enough yet, so i don't know if it enhances MGF.
