Humakti, IMHO, are not generally disassociated with healers (except for some fanatics) and their healing magics.

The Humatki make oaths to better serve Humakt, and to show their commitment to Humakt. So if injured, they would again try to make the best of their lot to glorify Humakt.

After taking that particular oath, though, to allow themselves to be magically healed, would be to break faith with Humakt. Similarly, the Humakti have a pact that once they're dead, they stay dead. err, that is, they proudly go to fight by Humakts side. To be brought back is dishonourable and shames them. And any Humakt brought back would probably kill the people responsible, then commit suicide to regain their honour.

Now, as for healers... If a CA healer knows that the fallen warrior is a Humakti, they will not attempt to resurrect them. And similarly if they know the warrior has that geas they won't use magic.

However, they would use first aid, and any plants, medicines, healing techniques, strenghtening exercises etc at their disposal to aid healing (sometimes close enough to what can be achieved with magic but taking seasons). Note that a number of Humakti with that particular geas have been known to wander about minus one or more of their limbs.....

And now, after having tried to fit the above in Glorantha, methinks the mechanism is for game balance.

And all the above is IMO.

There is also another distinction you can make if you wish to. Is the healing magic referred to just 'paltry' spirit magic, or is it the gift of the gods (divine) magic to which the geas refers.
