If it's a geas, it doesn't matter what the intent is. It's a stricture you've bound yourself to, and it's keeping it that's important. (The fact that following it makes you a better Humakti is immaterial, compared to not breaking your oath to Humakt.)

In Celtic stories, breaking a geas almost always results in death, so it's fitting that geases are associated with Humakt.
