Will Johnson:
>What I figured I would use is the
>Runes themselves. Since Everway was only making use of the cards as a random
>element which could be subjectively interpreted to the events that have
>occured. The same should be true of the runes

Since I am firmly entrenched in the pro-rune camp I like this idea of course. What has to be remembered is that different cultures place have different views of runes.

Example 1: an Orlanthi associates Air with freedom, while a Dara Happan probably associates it with rebellion or something less palatable. (Very roughly speaking of course. I don't want to resurrect a long-dead debate).

Example 2: a troll associates Darkness with motherhood and safety, while a human more likely thinks of cold and fear.

If you use runes for action resolution, the interpretation must be related to the subject(s).

Mike Cule:
>I was planning to have seven cards in each elemental group depicting a deity.
>Orlanth would be the King of the Storm group and Yelm the King of the Light
>Group.

Don't forget Darkness... Btw, what will you do about the pesky Moon? Is it an element or not?

>Obviously this Gloranthan Tarot is that most dreaded of things: A GOD LEARNER
>CONSTRUCT!
Yea! Long live the god learners.

Nick Fortune:
> Wands Air Intellectual
> Cups Water Emotional
> Swords Fire Aggressive
> Coins Earth Sensual

>The trouble here is what association to give darkness as an element
>that does not overlap with the existing areas.

Instinctive?

However, the four "standard" associations don't seem completely right for Glorantha, Air (= Orlanth) intellectual? nah, hardly...

Yes, I'm just spotting (what I preceive as) flaws right now.

No, I don't have any better suggestions myself.

Yes, I'm thinking and trying to come up with something. (Like the Heroquest rules I use in a coherent format).
