Just came across a nice minor touch for naval adventures: The Aetolian
pirate Dicaearchus, who terrorized the Aegean for years until he met his
death in Alexandria in 196 B.C., had an odd sense of religion. Wherever he
anchored his vessels he set up two altars: One to Asebeia (Impiety) and
the other to Paranomia (Lawlessness). How about that for a chaotic
