Years.

Reading Graves' White Goddess recently has got me thinking about the Gloranthan calendar, particularly in respect of Great Years, tree/ alphabetic calendars, and the like. Seems like a potential mine for Entekosiad-era stuff, but while that's still under wraps, here are some thoughts to be going on with:

Anyone have any clever ideas about the cycle of the "Blue" moon, and any calendar-relics which might have been based on that? (I have a few, but am naturally cautious about Gregging.)

What calendar was in use in Dara Happa/Peloria before the Lunars? (The Theyalan calaendar seems unDara Happan in the extreme. There isn't even a whole number of their "four-days" in a year. Anyone care for a four-season year of 300 days, starting at the winter solstice, with "leap months" to correct for true solar time?)

Which is the first Season of the Kralori year? Is it a "solar" year, or an "agricultural" one?

Are there any (other) calendars which don't start immediately after the Theyalan Sacred Time?

In timely fashion,
Alex.
