The Red Moon -- known to everyone. Sits in a fixed position up north, rotates constantly so you can see the phases.

The Blue Moon -- known to most, though flatlanders may be aware of it only as an obscure technical point. Her course through the sky is invisible until she drops through the hole at Pole Star down through Magasta's Pool, at which time very keen eyes or magic can spot the Blue Streak. Some folks don't know of her as a Moon, only as a Streak.

The White Moon -- in Genertela, a prophesied Moon of Peace, Love, and Goodness. Supposedly not in existence yet. In the East Isles, the White Moon was supposedly wife of the Sun Emperor during the Godtime, but eventually went to the land of sleep, where she still lives, is thought to be very real indeed and to exist in dreams (half the universe, to an Islander). Lucid islanders can visit her and sometimes temporarily summon dream-things from her land.

The Black Moon -- In the Lunar Empire, a name for the mysterious dark body that orbits the Red Moon, thus causing her phases. Only a very few know about her -- mostly Examiners and highly scholastic types. In the East Isles, she rose in the Darkness, and her rise slew the Sun Emperor and caused the White Moon to set into the land of sleep. The Black Moon eventually set, too, and now exists in the land of sleep, from whence she sends nightmares. These nightmares sometimes enter the waking world and are a very real problem in the East Isles.

The Green Moon -- very little is known about this one.

That's all the moons I know about.
