In V2 #296, Hasni asks a bunch of questions, and I'll field one:

>Sorcery: If an Elf learned Sorcery in the west, would he technically be
>a worshiper of the Invisible God? Or is all that stuff about sorcery
>spells being "prayers" to be ignored...? (Is ALL sorcery phrased as
>prayers?)

Elves can't learn sorcery, according to Greg (third-hand communication).  They also can't worship the IG. The reason for the former is that they're minds and souls are not keyed into seeing the universe as a bunch of natural resources which can be manipulated according the principles of immutable natural law. They're stuck with (or blessed with, depending) a Weltanshauung which is highly personal, in that Aldrya is RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU ALL THE TIME. Sorcery requires an impersonal view of the universe and having Aldrya RTIFOYATT would be more than just a distraction: She makes it impossible.

Worshiping the IG is similarly contrary to Aldryami hard-wiring.

The only reference to sorcery as prayers of which I am aware is in Borderlands, hardly the strongest source for such matters. If you're thinking of a different citation, please let us know where it is and we'll try to rationalize it into nonexistence. :-) Seriously, I don't think that's the current view of sorcery.
