I agree with Nick Brooke that Arin (if toned down) would make a decent minor cult. The major problem with home-brewed cults is that they tend to be too highly powered or to widespread, or both. Arin is both.

As Nick said, there's lots of room in the world for minor cults. I'm not sure I could have a character worship the Great Newt--I'm a Democrat--but there are other gods and spirits in the world. Check out the Night Worm in NLG 2 for an example.
