Presumably the elf would have to make a successful elfsense roll to avoid taking on the trauma of the severing (otherwise known as 'graftshock')? If Graftshocked, the elf would require loving care and nuturing at the hands of the local healer or gardener. Otherwise the consequences could be dire...
