This is reasonably different from what is in the Lords of Terror in the cult of Malia writeup where she 'served as midwife to the birth of Wakboth the Devil'.

>> This is why she is not chaotic, but only tainted with

Changing my opinion into accepting Malia into the compromise, I can understand the Theyalans saying Malia left before the birth, whether it was true or not (they would believe it to be true).

For those living near disease dripping broo, I suspect people have trouble clearly seperating Malia from chaos.

>> The Lunar Empire doesn't really care if Malia is chaotic or not.
There are places in the Lunar Empire where Malia is the main Healing Goddess, not Chalana Arroy or Deezola. <<

Sputter! Choke! Sputter! Cough! Again, resorting to LoT, but this time because it supports my view - , 'All Gloranthan societies outlaw the worship of Malia'... 'there are no centers of power for the cult'. But before rereading the Malia cult write up, I hadn't remembered that Malia was born a spirit of healing (esp. growth/birth).

>> After all, Malia protects against disease _better_ than these other
goddesses. She gives you _certainty_ that you won't catch whatever pestilence you fear most. <<

Certainly, Malia will have a fair number of propitiatory worshippers, involuntary initiates, and even a number of voluntary initiates (apart from Broos) wishing to spread disease. But the protection offered to propitiatory worshippers and involuntary initiates is only for _that_ disease for which they have given up part of their soul.

Much better to go to Chalana Arroy or even Deezola who can cure you from _all_ diseases (well, usually before dying :) ). Especially if you don't want friends and family infected.

But apart from a sorry and self defeating protection against disease, what healing powers has Malia retained? Her Divine magic list from the cult writeup contains no healing spells. Spirit Spells? Her disease masters fight against healing spirits. So I really can't see her being treated as a healing goddess anywhere!
