Maybe Aldryami use photosynthesis to keep their bodies a lovely shade of green. Too little sunlight and they go brown or yellow and look wilted, just as humans who get too little sun get pasty looking. An Aldryami who spends a lot of time in the direct sun "greening" develops a nice deep green color. He may even use cocoa butter sun enhancers (certainly NOT blockers).
