Tim - I believe that males can become BG initiates, all it takes is a little cut (they *say* you will hardly feel a thing). I believe that these ?males? can join BG and thus BG regiments. I also believe that the Esrolians would view these persons as honourary women.
Pam - Elves use Food Song (like Peaceful Cut), or at least they did in RQ2 where they are described as Vegetarian Canables! However, I suspect that I won't be the only one to say this on the digest.
