Martin expounds his theory of male/warrior dominated societies in Glorantha:

>As populations rise you get competition over scarcer and scarcer
resources...
leads to conflict... men soon feel that they are doing all the hard work.. they create warrior
rituals... and an elaborate status system soon forms... and make the whole act of going out an killing someone else almost a religious experience.

>How does this relate to Glorantha?

It puts about half of the _Entekosiad_ in a nutshell! This is certainly what happened in Peloria.

But did it necesarily happen in Esrolia????? (Visit the discussions on Tom Zunder's Esrolia site.)
The RW has little magic (at best), Glorantha has very powerful magic. Women are on an equal footing with men when it comes to magic. As others have pointed out, these are the strengths of both the Esrolians and the Lunars.

Sure, death and war magic is briefly powerful, but the sheer masses of folk worshipping life giving deities (Ernalda, Oraia, Ralia) are going to give them an edge.
