I think Brian Tickler's Humakti is a "better" Humakti than Martin's Onslaught, though far less common a type. The difference:

And I think Martin (Laurie) behaved dishonorably by killing off someone else's character...

Actually, in Jeff Richard's game last night, we ended up as warriors because we were such *bad* farmers. If Korol Jaransson had any skill with Animal Lore, he wouldn't have had to kill a man. (He got out of another fight because he was a Goodvoice, so it balances out.)

As I recall, Edwart Hall is the main writer about this sort of thing, and he made the distinction between high context Southern European cultures and low context Northern European cultures (British, German). I imagine Britain or Germany were as homogeneous as Spain or Italy, so your argument isn't valid.
