Good? Maybe, maybe not. It depends who you ask.

Sure. Arkat did a lot of other bad stuff too. For one thing he turned himself into a troll. For another he killed osentalka the perfect one, who was a wonderful god and the savior of the universe. For another thing he blazed the heroquest paths that gave birth to the godlearners.

If Dorasta was dead or wounded nigh-unto-death then Gbaji's followers would be weakened and so too would Gbaji. Certainly it sucked that Arkat had to nearly destroy a wonderful goddess of life and fertility to defeat Gbaji, but you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet.
