immortals

 Hi all

Vadeli

Nick Brooke asked about them

As he said, brown vadeli are like the bene tleilax in Frank Herbert's Dune.

I picture the red vadeli as the sardaukars, the emperor's elite troops in the same novel. And almost noone know from where they come.

For the blue vadeli, I'll take grand admiral Thrawn, in the Star war novels. By studying a race's art, he can guess their thought process and devise tactics that let them cold in the water. I'll give him a Menilbonean's cruelty too.

All the vadeli have some geas. Sandy Petersen gave some examples for the brown and the red. My ideas for the blues are:
- - they may only captain a ship (ie they cannot be simple
crewmember)
- - a blue vadeli may only use one (1) of the elemental
weapons

Immortal armies

Do the Brithini have crossbow?

I think that the dwarves invented the crossbow before the Dawn.
Like the dwarves, the Brithini had to fight the elves and the trolls, they may be conservative, but if the dwarves could adopt new weapons, the Brithini can too. And in my opinion they adopted the crossbow for the same reason the dwarves did. They had to counter the elf bow and the troll sling.

Do the Horali fear death?

Like any soldier in the world they do fear death. But to take an example, if a lunar soldier is killed in action, the lunar empire does not have to try to resurect him.
A Horali knows that his commander has to provide for a resurection if he is killed. True, he remembers comrades who met their final death when something went wrong in the ritual, he remembers defeats were whole armies were killed, but he has a better insurance in this matter than a lunar soldier.
I think that at least a fourth of the Horali were alive at the Dawn.

Armies rating

The Brithini and the dwarves are at least as trained, disciplined and well lead than the lunar soldiers.
They fear death just a little less than a typical lunar. They deserve a 5 when the lunar have a 4. The main differences between the Brithini/dwarf armies and the others is their commanders's view of the casualties.

The Brithini will never have a Camerone, even if it would secure a global victory, because they could not bring back the soldiers bodies or recruit more soldiers to replace the killed.

Since the KoW is able to beat the Brithini or the dwarves, they have a 6.

	Peace
		Jean
