It could well be the same for the Elmal version. Except that first Orlanth arms his Loyal Thane, who then he sees off the Troll, thaws frigid Inora into becoming his Spring Wife, and helps hold off the encroaching Chaos. IMHO. OTOH, the Elmali don't learn any of the same things that Sun Dome Yelmalions would from this experience -- hence they don't fight in phalanx, have a stoic/spartan tradition of endurance and self-reliance in the face of peril, have stiff upper lips, or fight 'til the last man when the chips are down -- because their God doesn't teach them how to do these things (not having experienced them himself). They do, however, learn how to accept gifts from chieftains, fight off Troll ambushes, warm up frigid women, etc.; skills much more useful in the barbarian highlands.

David Hall's Elmal/Yelmalio myth from the first RQCon Programme Book (also one of the handouts from Home of the Bold) deals with how this structure was dismantled by Monrogh and/or his followers in the North.
