In my previous post I fumbled my typing

In my opinion, the Closing has the following effects:

All (85%) of the ships that sail from the coast without Dormal's magic are gently pushed back toward the shore, the others are destroyed.

All (85%) of the ships that leave the coast with the currents and then set sail are destroyed, the others are gently pushed toward the shore.

A fluctuation in the Closing could cause the disaster that wrecked the only old one's fleet, it was made worse by a gale or an exceptional tide.
