Sorry for the previous posting. My editor jumped out and that auto sent it.
Summary. The sables armed with bows engage the bison riders then turn and
start running. If th bison pursue the sables can get about 10-20 arrow shots
(horse bow style) before they are forced to engage the bison at closer ranges.
The bison who do not usually use bows, (javalins mostly) are already damaged
by the arrows. this running battle covers about 6km. The sable could have an
ambush setup. the the bison are doomed. If the sables do not have an ambush
then turning and fighting the bison will hurt bad. If the bison are lancers
then the sable lose. If the bison are javalin/sword then one round of javalins
before closing to sword range.
Sorry also for the game mechanics in this posting. But I have to start
somewhere. I include this for background assumptions
>>1. What is the maximun running speed for both animals.?

yep.
Monster coliseum states that acceleration is 1/2 the max speed.
first move on dex sr. So the Sable starts moving on SR3 the Bison on
SR 4. From this I get a total distance traveled
Bison = 88 Sable = 117 from a standing start.
would this apply to Humans running??
Q: on the second round both are already moving. Total distance travelled
will be Bison = 160 and Sable = 180 ??

Bison = 60 Sable 36 at 2 fatigue per round Sables tire after 18
rounds. Well 0 Fatigue. By that time the sables have increased their
lead by 18 * 20 m =360m if the animals go to full negative fatigue
then the lead is 720 meters. total distance travelled = 36 rounds
X 180m = 6480 sables
for bison 36 * 160 = 5760
with the bison at -12 fatigue
Assuming that a rider could shoot one arrow a round while riding full out. that would give about 10-15 shots from the Sables at the Bisons before the sables start to get tired. Oops this does not count reduction of fatigue for carrying the riders. The bison riders usually have javalins( max range 50) vs the sable bows (100 or 200)
>>5. How does RQ4 handle the movement for Bipedal and Quadrepedal
>critters?
from what I found it was (DEX + SIZ)/5 for humans. that gives and
average of (10 or 11 + 13)/5 = 4 or 5... ??? oh well., that does not
sound right. never mind. ...
>>6. How far can a large tribe of bison travel in a day?
> Depends on the season.
hmmmm. Just after sacred time. The book sayss.. 30km for large groups
with wagons and stuff ?
Do the tribes of Prax use wagons??
