I think Alio is his actual name and the Elves are appending the name of the local Solar God as a translation when speaking to outsiders (they are known to do this with their own names cf Elder Secrets). Thus to the West, they would probably call the God Hilmalio or Elmalio (after Ehilm and Elmal). In Teshnos, they might know him as Somalio (after Somash) but the Yellow Elves may have a different habit of translation. In the Elf Coasts they don't bother to translate the name as the locals probably get their Solar God from the Elves: thus he is simply known as Alio there.

Jean Durupt:

>Who is Furalor? What is her role in the society?

The destroyer. Invoked when you want to purify yourself of evil thoughts, curse somebody (write his name down and immolate the paper to Furalor), burn garbage or perform a funeral. If a Teshnan Priest wants to invoke destroy an enemy, I don't think Furalor is invoked despite her title of the destroyer.

>Is it possible that the Teshnans practice slash and burn agriculture?
>With this technique, a fiery death would mean fertility for the land.

I'm convinced that they started off as such. I do believe that the God Learners introduced the plow or paddies and that the more civilized areas of Teshnos use these. The Priests spend a large part of their time justifying such practices.

Garusharp has competent troops because he is the Highest Priest of Somash. There are temples to Somash dotted just about everywhere in Teshnos and the Somash Warriors are to be found there. All are obliged to obey Garusharp in his presense as he is the Highest Military Authority in Teshnos. No other Major Cult has troops under its control, the local Somash Temple provides the muscle. There are some minor cults which combat but they're not as good as Somash.

IMO Garusharp can't launch a coup and declare Somash to be Head Dude because what the other Cults lack in military power they make up for in Magical Power ('Army? *ZOT!* What Army?!?').

Garusharp's War Elephants OTOH come from his estates which is the personal fief of the High Priest of Somash. There are no war elephants outside Wokistan (sp?) IMO.

Spake upon Arkat:

>After his victory, he recieved the worship and power he desired from the
>Humakti, from the Trolls, as a Saint in Ralios and as a Chaos monster
>(this bit was unintended I think) in parts of Ralios and in Peloria but
>I don't think he took into account the effect such diverse worship would
>have, it tore him apart, he dissipated. He was no longer singular, he
>became a plethora of forms and his body simply faded away or was torn apart.

He appears to have been suffering the Plethora of Forms before his victory. At his initiation into Kyger Litor (in the Troll Gods Yellow Booklet), Arkat appears to swarm over an opponent 'as if there were four or five Arkats' according to the observer. Food for thought.
