Actually expanding upon that example and other examples of HQs where it shows you also end up with some bad side effects:

A Mistress Race Troll (very powerful and knowledgeable in heroquests) goes on a heroquest to end the trollkin curse, she knows she can't make major changes to that which has already occurred in Time and that with anything she does there must be some give and take due to the Comprimise (less if dealing with events which happened during Godtime), so she goes back and (insert big long quest) and finally interposes herself between Gbaji and Kygor Litor just as "the curse" is thrown. The end result is that from now on, all the trolls from lines other than hers will breed true (not ness. Mistress race, but at least Dark troll). But all trolls from her family line (i.e all her decendents) will breed as trollkin!

Now, this troll would have to be more powerful (IMO) than Cragspider. She would also have to give up more than Cragspider did, but her quest yields more results as she is not questing for herself, or power, just altering a curse (from a "god"). Cragspider was not only not willing to give up so much, but also did not the power/knowledge at the time to alter the curse in such a way.

The above is an example and would of course require much knowledge of the events to be altered, possible pre-HQ-ing to set up/gain certian abilities and gathering up a large number of worshippers focused on your HQ.
