They had had a very successful mission in the Rubble and came out with enough loot that they could afford to buy a good inn and give up adventuring.
Had they paid for three Regrow Limbs it would have used up enough of their profit that they would have not been able to buy the inn, and they would have had to risk another return to the Rubble. Being sensible fellows, they decided that being alive with a good business but crippled was better than being whole but risking their lives again.
