Orlanthi honor

Peter Maranci wondered about Orlanthi attitudes toward killing Lunars.

There is no clear answer, because the Orlanthi have a complex legal code, and because their RW gm's and players have very different interpretations of that code.

Some Orlanthi law points to keep in mind:

1. Laws don't apply to outlaws, foreigners, animals, etc. Lunars would likely fall into that category, at least in Sartar.
2. Even if you decide that Lunars are included under the law, murder is not a crime unless it's not announced. (But "secret murder" is a capital offense.) So, you could argue that your PC's can go about doing whatever they like to Lunar teenagers, as long as they tell somebody about it.
3. Orlanthi public opinion also counts, though somewhat less than law. PC's who run around ambushing forces smaller and weaker than themselves may be within the law, but the story makes a damn poor boast.

Honor is extraordinarily important to the Orlanthi. But their definition of it is, like any culture's, somewhat narrow.

The PC's might well run across other Orlanthi who don't share their blind, anti-Lunar zeal. Frex, you could have an old women mysteriously address one of them as "Hrothmir Child-Killer", or have an alynx look at him and run away. (Glorantha is a magical world and you're the GM - you don't have to justify sqat!)
