More spiritual stuff

Peter Metcalfe gives authoritative information on real earth's development of distilled booze.

>Distillation requires a still which didn't become commonplace
>until circa 12th century AD.

As opposed to Dragon Pass, where the Dwarf was known and seen with field stills ever since the Unity Battle. IMO the method leaked out by the time the Remakers stitched up their zoo, at latest.

>For Sartarites to be making strong booze by fractional distillation

Eek. No fractional distillation in my Glorantha, either, just an ordinary "two theoretical bottom column" retort for home distilling. The Scotch stills have peculiar forms to their "columns", but not really comparable to fractional distillation. (The booze retains quite a lot of taste from before the distillation, too.)

>I believe that
>they rely on prayers to Minlister and other spirits to increase
>the bounty of the brew.

Likely yes, but how does this keep them from distillation? Af course this process will be tied to Minlister's lore, e.g. about malt, when to roast it (BTW: does Sartar have enough peat sources for decent life water?) and how to store it in what kind of barrels.
