You Varmandi aren't related to the Orlevings (hawk/spit), are you? OK then, thanks for the compliment: some Colymar are OK guys. And I loved your latest story, too.

I don't have my notes handy, but I believe the name of the Greydog Clan came from an incident a long while back (before Sartar Peacemaker's time) when a band of raiders descending on our clan steads through the mist were scared off by our sheep: they thought they were big grey dogs and forbore to continue their raid. David Hall will remember the whole story.

There's more I could say about Thorgeir and Our Ruthie (the Sacred Cow of the Greydogs), but I'll save it for a rainy day: "The Hunt For Red Storm Season" relaunches in a few hours, and we need to make the flat presentable (and, indeed, palatial) before the players arrive...

I think you'll find the material compiled was mostly ten or twelve years old: everything points to the GE contents dating from the late Seventies (when GS was trying to write "Armies and Enemies of Dragon Pass" and/or the "History of the Hero Wars").
