An excellent suggestion. What are the stories told of how she was defeated and imprisoned?

Another excellent suggestion. I can see how one clan or tribe could adopt this worship, and the others follow when they see the advantages it brings. In fact, the Votanki may already be doing some burning off of undergrowth to improve the hunting, just as the eastern U.S. Amerindians did. Firshala is a way to recoup more of the energy released that way, by eating crops instead of the game which eat the plants. (Climax forests can be relatively sterile places--with notable exceptions like swamps and rain forests, and disturbance often increases biomass as well as diversity.) That's the outsider's view, anyhow, which is what Simon likes. I would translate this pseudo-science into the local myth language for an insider's view, if it were my game.

That's what they'd tell themselves, anyway. THe Aldryami may take a different view. They think they're managing the forests just fine without human interference. Although some of the Vronkali have a violent, mystical forest-fire ritual, most Aldryami hate and fear fire. So, we'll get some conflict (the stuff stories are made of). Aldryami LIKE climax forests.
