The Crimson Bat at the Block
There is no way that the Lunars would risk putting the Bat near the
block. The block is concentrated Law, after all, powerful enough to
hold Wakboth (or at least most of him) underneath it. The C.B. is
WAY less powerful than the Big W., and who knows what would happen to
it so near to all that LAW? At the least, its powers might well cease
to function. It might set off a Godplane event. At the worst, it might
be transformed back from being a Chaos creature in the first place.
And many of the top lunars could not use so much truestone -- it
would shift the balance between Law and Chaos in the Empire.
Of course, the big W. himself might be trying to get a Lunar expedition
down there to make it easier for him to be released!
And since he is released at some late date in the Hero Wars, maybe something
of the sort happens in one of the later transformations of the Empire. Some
interesting opportunities for the equivalent of CoC roleplaying, as the
powerful, if mad, cultists, work to release Glorantha's equivalent of the
big C himself, while the PC's work to interrupt the ceremony!
