Shrines: generally not buildings, but simple little spots by the roadside. Almost invariably signified by a sword emblem. The sword is often fake, because real ones could get stolen. Holy words and Runes can be carved nearby. Examples of simple shrine: a cluster of sticks from each of which dangles a miniature blade -- a worshiper is expected to add another blade when he wishes to thank Humakt for some great blessing; a tree with a large section of bark cut away, and a sword's image engraved upon it, surrounded by Runes.

Temples: almost always built to surround an inner courtyard, used for practice, training, feasts, meeting, etc. The richer ones are built in the shapes of crosses. The overall architecture is spartan and stark, inexpensive but strongly built. Humakt temples are explicitly open to the public most of the time.

Their frequency depends on where you are in Glorantha. In Theyalan lands, Humakt temples (or the local equivalent) are generally found only in cities and towns, though every tribe and most clans have shrines.
