Tim Ellis muses about what the default setting might be for Glorantha the RPG.

I also hope that they set it in a Sartarite clan, however I would prefer they set the time frame prior to the Lunar conquest of Sartar. Here's why: Following the Pendragon model, the scope of a Sartarite campaign could begin in 1575 and extend into the mid 1600's. This would allow the characters to grow up in a free Sartar and experience the pressure of Lunar expansion. The starting characters could fight at the battle of Grizzley Peak, Runegate Fort or the Fall of Boldhome (possibly with their eldest children). Their children could feel the weight of the Lunar occupation and participate or denounce the persecution of the Telmori and Ducks. Perhaps they could escape or be banished to Prax. The grandchildren of the original characters could assist Argrath in his war against the Lunars. A fairly epic time frame for any campaign.

The above was the period I chose for my own RQ campaign because I couldn't be Gregged by playing in the past. The events were already plotted out in "broad stokes" and I could add the details without any problem. Very much as Pendragon supplies a rich background for GMs familiar with the legends to draw upon without restricting them.

My hope for Glorantha the RPG would also include the type of support material Chaosium now produces for Pendragon. How about separate books detailing role playing for Prax, Ralios, Tarsh, Grazelands, etc. that look like "Pagan Shores and Over the Wall"? Would anyone complain about this quality for future Glorantha supplements?

Have I missed the boat? What are other peoples' hopes and expectations. Does anyone have any real information? Should I be a little less high on the future of Glorantha role playing? Help! I can't calm down!
