Sun Dragon

I just had an idea that I've been playing around with and I'd like to hear some other folk's ideas and/or opinions.

I'm running a game in Prax/Pavis right now set in the year 1642 (yes, the events described in KoS up to that time have pretty much happened as described in the book).

In Sun County a Wyrm called "Windwhistler" is described as being the Priest of Sun Dragon and that he can occasionally be seen in and around the Sun Dome as well as in the Rubble where he lives. I've also just re-read The Fortunate Succession and I was drawn to the 30 or so years in which the Golden Dragon (a true dragon I assume) ruled the Dara Happan Empire before he was killed by the next emperor.

My thought was: Couldn't the Sun Dragon actually be the dream dragon of the Golden Dragon? I know that normally dream dragons fade away over a period of time after the True Dragons that created them die. However, I thought that since Sun Dragon was and still is actually worshipped, couldn't this have stopped the "fading" process because it receives enough power through worship to keep it "going"?

Obviously, this idea raises questions as to what exactly the relationship between the Sun Dragon and Yelmalions is and whether it is proper considering that Golden Dragon apparently wasn't too popular with the Dara Happans. Does this necessarily mean there is something heretical (in the Yelmic scheme of things) by associtaing with Sun Dragon then? Could it be that Sun Dragon was actually a manifestation of that part of the Golden Dragon that was good and noble (i.e. a part of its subconscious, id, super ego, or whatever)? Or could it be that when the Sun Dragon became a worshipped being, it became independant enough from the Golden Dragon that it developed it's own personality (dragonality?)?

Just some thoughts.
