Seven Darknesses

Just to add my $0.02 and in answer to Michael R.'s question, I would say the textures would be something like what David Dunham laid out, though perhaps there might be two sets - a physical set of darknesses that were also symbolic of the one's on David's list. So:

Darkness, as lit by blacklights only: >The Darkness Below (the Underworld)

Starlight level of light: >The Darkness Above (i.e. background of sky dome)

Darkness that is wet or moist - imagine being Jonah in the whale: >The Darkness Within

Darkness in which even darksense does not work (vacuum?): >The Darkness Without (the Chaos outside Glorantha?)

>Half-Darkness (twilight): Little darkness, or the realms of non-Uz; also of
Argan Argar

    >Red Darkness: Zorak Zoran's rage; imagine bloodlust portrayed in false colour IR

It was so black, the darkness itself was a palpable thing: >Black Darkness (a distinction only trolls could make)

Or so I make of it.

Best,

Glenn
