I thought I would add my two-penneth.

SALA MISH (SILVER SALT) - RIGHTARM ISLANDS, MANIRIA.  Sala Mish is a narcotic derived from a small non-descript fish of the Rightarm Islands. The fish are caught only on certain nights of the year, when they come to spawn in great silver shoals in the salt marshes of the region. Local taboo prevents any but the blessed of Pelaskos from collecting the fish, a taboo that is enforced strongly by the Ard-Righ-Mahal and his followers.  Sala Mish when caught in stored in round baskets, packed with salt. It is consummed on holy days of the local sea gods and at weddings. When consumed the fish releases a strong vaso-dilator into the blood stream. The user receives a strong and sudden flush of blood to the head and the heart beat rabidly increases. This however is not the total effect of the drug, as within seconds of the initial "flush" a second chemical is released that creates an effect similar to being intoxicated by drink. The effects of the drug is short lived, and so many fish are consumed during religious rites. Like alcohol the effect of the drug usually end up with the user suffering terrible hangovers, and the worst breath ever.
NB- It is not wise to use this drug if you are suffering from wounds as it can increase bleeding. It also can have a strong laxative effect.

Sala Mish is purchased only from temples and shrines to Pelaskos. The price varies depending on the catches of fish made. However it is typically between 15-100 Silvers for thirty fish.

HANUKA - CALADRALAND AND SURROUNDING REGIONS.  Hanuka is a very potent narcotic. It is derived from the bark of the Hukana tree. This large rust red tree grows only in the deepest forests of Caladraland. The collection and preparation of Hanuka is shrouded in great ritual, with good cause for if it is prepared incorrectly it becomes a potent nerve poison. Only a few know the rituals, but it is known that brimstone and pumice are required in the process.
Hanuka appears as a fine red dust, normally stored in a wax sealed turtle shell. It is tasen by being blown into the user's nose down a long, ornate blow pipe. Upon entering the respiratory system it takes effect. The user begins to hyper-ventilate, with a characteristic hacking noise coming from the throat. Within a minute the user blacks out and collapses. The duration of the coma is varied, from several minutes to upto a day. During the coma the mind and soul of the user are released from the body and enter a euphoric state. It is said by the Caladralanders that they commune with fire at this time.  Hanuka is a very dangerous medication, those of ill health or poor constitution can slip into permanent comas, suffer respiratory damage and psycosis. However to some religions it is a vital part of their ceremonies and so is readily used by them.

Hanuka is very precious and is traded for huge sums, however cunning and guile can reduce prices.
