I love the sentament behind the "hard healer" type. I think that they are better as NPCs than PCs but they can provide a great deal of comic relief in the game.

Imagine:

Sister Agnes of the Pavis CA Temple:

Cult: Chalana Arroy, Arroin subcult.

Occupation: Physiotherapist

Weight 15 stones (all muscle).
Will Power: Extremely domineering.

T-Shirt (XXX Large) motto
"Cruel to be Kind" on front
"No Pain No Gain" on back.

Sister Agnes conducts a strick regime of exercise and healthy food tailored to the patients' needs. She is remarkably efficient and has had a very good record at helping patients recover from diseases which cause permanent physical degeneration. She is known as a very strict disciplinarian forcing patients to stick with their regimes. Her knowledge and conviction that she is doing "the right thing" for her patients quite outweighs any quarms that she has concerning the agony that they are going through. The funny thing is that her expatients  swear by her treatment (although they are noticably reluctant to sign up for more).

Note:

This type of healer is very useful as they provide a very cost effective alternative to using expensive (in terms of POW) healing spells to restore health lost to Malia's diseases. This allows the priestesses of CA to concentrate their magical energies in areas where there is no mundane alternative (fight disease, regrow limb, resurrection...).

Cheers
