Just to be pedantic.

The aardwolf isn't a canine (it isn't even a canid, but a hyaenid). It eats mostly termites, so it shouldn't really even be called a carnivore, except in the taxinomic sense.

I don't think South America has a small canine like the coyote. I don't think either the maned wolf or the bush dog qualifies.
