In one of the Dragaera novels by Steven Brust ("Phoenix Guards", I think), there's a hilarious description of how a town was named "ford". In about six languages, additively. Recommended reading, even if not Gloranthan. In fact, Dragaera might fit well into Glorantha as one of the magical demi-human kingdoms.
