Sartarite Coin, Sea of Neliom, etc.

Lorne's trollkin games were brilliant: more/similar, please! (Maybe: when trollkin sit around in a cave after dawn, telling scary stories, until just when the Big Bad Burner appears and someone lets in the sunlight... Eeek!)

Brian/Peter on numismatics:

> set up the Cities with their guilds, this sounds appropiate.

Nope: in RQ2 the silver coinage of Sartar was the Sovereign. "Guilder" is the name said to be found in Corflu, bizarrely enough (by the book); I think this should be the name used in Pavis, too. Of course, nowadays the Sartarites call coins with Moonson's head on them "sovereigns", and very rightly too...

IMG, the silver coinage of the West is the 'shilling', with the etymology ultimately coming from 'Seshnelan". So that's what silver is called in south Heortland.

Unfortunately, that article is our best source for the Neliomi Sea.

This Digest has seen *lots* of discussion about the Vadeli, their renascent thalassocracy and their disgusting personal habits. Also some stuff on the Waertagi, including a Waertagi Captain's character sheet I wrote for the freeform game "How the West was One". If the archives are working, you'll be able to dig up more than you could possibly use.

You can find snippets of useful stuff amid all the blood and thunder of my "History of Malkionism" (the 'sidebar' articles on the Waertagi and Vadeli), in Tales #13 or on my homepage. And if you can get a copy of the Reaching Moon Megacorp's guide to Sog City, there's some stuff about the greens and blues of Sog (two Waertagi factions), which is all good clean fun.

Any specific questions, I'm sure we can try to handle here. Those sources should be good for general background.

My best advice: don't let people know that the Evil Monstrous Red-Skinned Corsairs are related to the Unctuous Sleazy Brown Vadeli Traders. Let this be a campaign discovery, rather than a piece of known background.

And watch out for the firebergs...
