Not necessarily. The design of the tattoo is more important. So, a Fanatacism tattoo may be a mad dog or bull, a Bladesharp matrix may be a Dagger, a healing tattoo may be an image of Chalana Arroy or a bandage or whatever. Form is more important than size, otherwise you could only have a few tattoos on your body.

It was a supposedly humourous comment - sorry, forgot the grin for those people who can't tell the difference :-).

No defenders? Anyone who argues for the Monomyth has my support, even if they use arguments which I do not agree with (all Sun Gods being the same, for instance).

> Was I being rude in some way? I do tend to ramble...
Not at all, people sometimes get het up over certain topics - the Monomyth is one of them. People are either passionately for it (you, me, some others) or passionately against it (Peter Metcalfe and most of the people on this list, it would appear). But don't worry, it's only a game after all.

If you Quest for the Truth, you become part of the Truth and hence can mould the Truth. This is why HeroQuestors see different things on HeroQuests - as they are intimately involved in the Quest, they can, and do, change the Quest. What you need to do is to find a way to observe the Quest but not actually *do* anything.

Boo! Hiss!

Accents

Of course I did. I have always assumed that each tribe/clan/village has its own accent which identified people as foreigners/strangers/one of us. However, I don't see the need for a discussion on it. My views only, of course. Your points are valid - but I would always have played this without a second thought.

One of my PCs always taught foreigners swear words as greetings for certain people - when greeting Lunar soldiers, for instance. He never saw the results but always thought that he was helping the cause by encouraging anti-Lunar activities.

Troll Insects and Warfare

In our campaign, Derak the Dark Troll used trolkin on wasps, bees and flies and trolls on beetles and mantises as flying troops. He also used spider-riding trolls as ground-based shock troops - they can outrun a horse and eat a rhino (as someone pointed out) and can climb walls. However, his crowning achievement was the use of the Create Zombie spell in combat.

The Zombie Praying Mantis was very impressive - he bolted lead plates all over it and had a veritable tank which did not tend to kill something and spend the next five minutes eating it (a mantis flaw). However, the GM took exception to this and said that a zombie could not fly, so he bolted lead plates to the wings and used the Wing Buffet attack.

The Megapedes were a complete failure, though - too difficult to aim.

Termites could not be trained easily, but the warriors were mighty impressive when munching away on people and the nasutes were always amusing - especially when the Troll Breeders had been performing genetic experiments on them.

His wagon (he was also an Argan Argar trader - DDT Enterprises) was pulled both day and night by untiring bison who even managed to swim through waters which rose above their heads. It took the Humakti in the party days to work that one out!

Another Create Zombie - Once, when fighting a Chaos Horde, we were completely outclassed when Derak killed the Giant Broo-Demon with a lucky critical and used Create Zombie to bring it back to fight on our side. After a good half hour of arguing, the GM decided that it *was* allowed, but ruled that the SIZ, STR and main attacks of the Demon were due to Chaos Features and that when the beastie died its spirit went away and took the chaos features with him, resulting in one puny Chaos Demon.

Rilldick, a Morokanth in Zorak Zoran (originally) decided that he needed a darkness mount and, true to form, decided on a Giant War Slug, as it could climb walls. This was true, but it moved at Movement 1 and left a nasty trail behind it. After several sessions, he decided that the chariot pulled by Herd Men was more traditional, even though it could not climb walls.

Well, I am rambling now - working nights for a week on your own does that to you - so i'll sign off.

If it has stats it can be killed.
If it is in the rules it can be abused.
If it is mentioned it can be targetted.
People can change the world and screw up the Timeline. Restrictions are for NPCs, not for PCs.
