V.S. Greene asks:

Long ago in our campaign, one of our female characters was involuntarily impregnated by a sun god. (Yelm, I think, but this was RQ2 and we didn't have any idea of the 57 varieties of sun god possible now.) Her son was, of course, a demigod, and was gladly taken in by the Domers in Sun County.

For less favored children, you've got Teelo Nori in Lunar lands, and you can probably find good ways to care for orphans in other places. Kinfolk who are barren, or have lost children to disease; kindly cults looking to raise their own initiates totally immersed in cult traditions; merchants or artisans willing to raise their own apprentices; ogres looking for a cheap meal. Lots of possibilities.
