The reason Glorantha has Ages, I recall, is that Greg has changed his mind, preferences and style through the years. Rather than just throw his old work away, he has had Glorantha hold it all, each in its own age. Thus the God Learners 'exist' because Greg once liked the idea of a (RW) monomyth.

I suggest we can take a similar view of out-of-print materials. Scholars researching in Gloranthan libraries come across references to ancient books that seem to contradict the available sources. Some scholars jealously guard their stores of rare books, dismissing the poorer librarians for their ignorance. Meanwhile, others try to discredit the ancient wisdom, on the grounds that it is demonstrably false, and lacks the benefit of 'modern' research. Nostalgic sages mourn the passing of the golden age of learning. etc.
