Humakti fertility

Henk Langeveld says:

>as part of their death cult inititation.

Count me as another vote against this "consensus". Humakti are not mindless killing machines, slaughtering everything for the sake of slaughter. They kill what needs killing, and no more. In as far as they serve as bodyguards with Sense Assassin, they actually have a role in preserving life.

I think they should be rather cold-blooded when it's time to kill someone, but this does not mean they are indifferent to life in general. I would prefer to see them as complex characters, trying to balance stern duty with normal feelings. The alternative is to make them cardboard cut-outs, two dimensional creatures of no interest to anyone.

I've even considered that they might be the ones to console the dying. Who better to prepare the old and sick for death than the one who has a close personal relationship with death? In any case, I think there is room for a larger role in Gloranthan society for Humakti than Village Murderer.
