Dysfunational Humakt and Babs

Why isn't everybody in Sartar followers of Humakt and Babeester Gor? Simple, they're extremely tied to specific roles that interfer with being normal, balanced people. Orlanth and Ernalda are more balanced and can function in a lot of societal roles. To an extent, worshippers take part of the nature of their gods; Humakti and Babsis might still be fertile but they can't handle parenthood. Imagine a Babeester Gor mom's idea of discipline! "You didn't clean your room!?" CHOP!

I think other followers of specialised dieties also have such problems, but perhaps not to such an extreme. A Chalana Arroy follower probably wouldn't be a good farmer, but could still have a family. I doubt that an Eurmali could. While you can have a functional society of nothing but Orlanth and Ernalda followers, I seriously doubt a society of nothing but Humakti would last long.
