This isn't how I read the description. "Sanctify", as a spell, has normal
duration. A temple (as opposed to a shrine) has effectively got a
PERMANENT Sanctify in place: otherwise those rune levels praying inside a
temple for a day to get their spells back would have to cast Sanctify and
several points of Extension first, which would rather defeat the object.
According to the rulebook, a temple is "a conjugation of the God Plane...
and the mundane plane..." and it "transmits mortals' prayers to the deity
and divine messages to the priests". That's got to be more than just a
Sanctify!
Yes, I know that starting from the games mechanics is the wrong way to go, but I haven't got a lot else to work with. Especially now the examples of the Reaching Moon and Krarsht have been explained away: thanks, guys, that made a lot of sense.
