What, can't us trolls kill a Wind Lord once and a while?

James Frusetta giving excellent propoganda for the trolls

I've enjoyed the troll postings. Especially Tarantulor, ...

>> What, can't us trolls kill a Wind Lord once and a while? <<

Unfortunately, as a race, the trolls are no longer doing all that well. They are being pushed back, bit by bit, by that race who breed like humans.

>> And why are _Orlanthi_ smart enough to adapt, but not trolls, mmm? <<

Part of the reason is that humans have been breeding, adapting, and winning. Trolls are very clever, and IMO can adapt, but it's much harder for them. Their nature is bred into them. They are born with instincts perfectly evolved for living in wonderhome, not for being on the 'wrong' side of the lozenge. The trolls curse doesn't help either.

>>

I think one of the sources of conflict between Kwaratch Kang and Arkat (despite the fact they were supposed to be friends) was that Arkat was creating organized troll armies and casting aside traditional raiding tactics.
<<
An ex-human whom with different ideas, background and different tactics was very effective with troll forces.

Probably also helped create the troll air force, among other things ;-)

And I also like the idea of an elite force of spider riders.

>> Me thinks the trolls -- even the ZZers -- are capable of a wee bit more
subtlety, and that the "headlong warriors" business is a human bias -- <<

Subtlety for trolls, is not necessary subtlety for humans. Theirs is a much different viewpoint.

>> But I think the trolls are perfectly capable on the battlefield -- taking
ZZ to determine how troll combat works .... <<

Agreed.
