Firstly, thankyou one and all for the suggestions to deal with an angry widow. I especially liked the Eurmal muderous taint. Though I had already been leaning in this direction, since I think an Orlanth/Jester [Eurmal] aspect is very one dimensional, I thought I'd be passive agressive about getting the subject to fore. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. Now for something completely different. . .
I'm really surprised noone picked up on my greek/glorantha rant and would like to pick it up again with a variant cult for trolls: (drums) Jeset the Craftman.
Everyone knows, Jeset built the first boat. Therefore, Jeset was the first toolmaker. Troll craftman have few iconic figures, possibly Gustbran the sorceror/smith, but this developement of craftsmanship seems like it comes very late in troll history. Fire and its corresponding rune heat came way after darkness and water. Instead of cold forging, we have whatever skill Jeset used to fashion his boat. And I for one think this makes him at least a minor civilizing aspect, maybe handing the reigns off to Kogag, since Jeset is busy ferrying dead all night. Most civilizations are inspired by craftsmanship dieties and, IMO, troll civilization needs one as well.   I imagine Jeset must have seemed very silly, or to wiser darkness powers, dangerous and anti-status quo sitting in that boat, which is what all those gnarled smith figures are like in the real world. Something sort of dangerous, or mistrusted, Smith gods of craftsmanship manipulate powers few can understand. "Beware the geeks," because they are cutting edge.
