Yes, this is the way it goes, if we are on Fantasy Earth (a world I am somehow missing). But on a world where even a common cold _is_ the result of possession by a malignant spirit, though with POW 0.001, I doubt one would dare call herself a healer if she had to resort to poultices to heal a wound. A wise woman should be able to do things normally impossible to normal Ernalda-only worshippers, and I do not think Earth Witch has access to greater healing powers than big E. My, if it is days before the victim is out of danger, one has the time to go to the tribal temple of Ernalda herself, pray for Heal Wound, get back and heal the injured.

The fact is than one needs to worship Humakt. Jeff Richards would say: "Not Humakt, Orlanth the Warrior!", but since I usually have business with the version of the myth where Humakt is the name for Orlanth's sword (see the Arming of Orlanth in KoS), I prefer to think of Humakt as the local variation of the warrior associate/subcult.

Ralian Farmer:
"You warrior? You little girl! I twice as big as you, and thrice as strong."

Ralian Houscarl
"Me warrior, me invoke Humath's might on this sword and tear foes apart. You farmer, you invoke the power of good Barntar on that plow and tear the Earth apart. When the broo and the Telmori comes, how do you stop it?"

Replace Humath with Orlanth the Warrior in Dragon Pass. Also note that when Earth season (and not the broo) comes, the houscarl has trouble plowing the earth with Truesword, so in fact he has not a much higher status than a farmer.
